On the evening of Wednesday 6th July 2022, in a stiff breeze, 28 Plodders turned out in Ovington at the start line for the Tynedale Pie and Peas 10k, one of the biggest club turnouts on the night! |
And what a great set of results those runners turned in! In no particular order Plodders rolled in with: 2nd place women’s team 1st place V35 woman – Charmaine Ho 2nd place V40 man – Neil Clubbs 3rd place V35 woman – Claire McKinnon 3rd place V40 woman – Charlotte Mountford An excellent run from ALL Plodder participants and a fair few pbs clocked up! |
There was an excellent turn out from the Plodder cheer squad as well, which all the runners appreciated and, as usual with our club, everyone who ran stayed to cheer on every other Plodder! As someone once said about fighter jets, we counted them out and counted them all back home. It doesn’t matter if you are quick or less quick, this club always has your back! So, where to next? At the end of the month, Sunday 31st, there will be the Gosforth Summer Relays held at Great Park. Our team captain’s (Hezzy and Amy) will be trying to cajole you into teams soon. Please rest assured that you are very welcome in a team however accomplished a runner you feel you are, you won’t be letting anyone down. Relays are great fun events and the more teams we have entered the bigger the buzz on the day! Next on our Club Championships race list is the Gateshead Trail 10k and it would be fabulous to have another big turn out of Plodders on that day. It’s always a great atmosphere on the start line when there is a big group of us and the support will surely be as epic as ever! It doesn’t matter if your fast or less so 10k is still 10k! So get entering here: SiEntries – Gateshead Trail 10k And then of course comes our own club’s next race the Essity Prudhoe Miners Race! Again, part of our Club Championship but, more importantly, our own club’s race organised by Lisa Napier and an amazing team and the best way to thank them for their organisation is through having a whole ton of Plodders turn up on the start line! So, get Sunday 18th September blocked out in the diary and get entering here: Essity Prudhoe Miners Race – The Entry Point and this is one our Juniors can get involved with too with a 2k race for the under 15s so let’s get loads of them entered, just go here Junior Essity Prudhoe Miners Race – The Entry Point The things this real running club is achieving are amazing, so let’s keep riding the wave and improving all the time. Onwards, upwards and plod on! |
